Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Terra-cotta Warriors + Banpo Neolithic Village Museum

Pick you up from the hotel at about 8:30am to 9:00am, drive to the Banpo Neolithic Village Museum, which is an archaeological remain found in 1953. In the 1980s, it was one of few attractions in Xian, second only in world fame to the Terracotta Warriors. The Banpo Neolithic Village Museum contains the remains of several well organized Neolithic settlements dating from 5600 - 6700 BP. After 1 hour tour at Banpo Neolithic Village Museum, you will have chance to visit the Xian Art Ceramics and Laquer Factory, which is a state run factory that reproduces various sizes of a few of the more recognized terracotta warriors.

After lunch, drive 1 hour to world famous Terra-cotta Warriors, which is a collection of Terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor in 210–209 BC and whose purpose was to protect the emperor in his afterlife. After visit at Terra-cotta Warriors, transfer you back to Xian city, you will have chance to visit the North Square of the Big Goose Pagoda, a unique square closely combines the Tang-style buildings, city sculpture with Tang-Dynasty culture and lots of precious trees.

Day 2: Ancient City Wall + Xian Museum + Muslim Quarter

The tour guide and the driver will meet you in your hotel lobby. Today’s adventure begins with Xian Museum. Tourists can learn about the history and culture of Xian by visiting the Xian Museum and the pagoda.Next move on to the nearby North Square of Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The pagoda standing on the square was originally built in the Tang Dynasty to keep sutras and figurines of the Buddha that Xuanzang brought back to China fromancient India. And surrounding the pagoda a garden styled square was built for citizens to have retreat.

After the lunch, we’ll move on to Xian Ancient City Wall. Xian Ancient City Wall is the most complete preserved and the largest city wall in China. It was built for military defense in ancient times. The rectangular city wall is 13.7 kilometers in circumference. Visitors can optionally ride bikes on the city wall top.

After that you will visit the Bell Tower and Drum Tower square for one hour. The Bell Tower and Drum Tower of Xi’an date back to the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). The two are located in the center of the Xian city connecting the four roads from east, south, west and north within the city wall.
The last stop is the Muslim Quarter , a hub of the Muslim community in Xian City. Many special local products and snacks to be found along this street. You can enjoy preserved meat, casserole, various noodles.

At the end of the day tour, you are transferred back to your hotel in Xian.

The cost was minimal compared to the fun I had! First we toured the Forbidden City and our guide, Leo, was wonderful! He shared great knowledge and gave us time to explore on our own. He spoke too fast and a little bit unclear, and seem like almost too in rush for anything so I think that could be improved in the future. The meal in our second day was amazing though! Delicious! This is a further away section but much quieter and definitely worth the extra travel. I visited Mitanyu previously which was very busy. Two hikes were available 7km and 13km. I took the 7km which was still quite challenging. Spent 2.5 hours on the wall. It’s an amazing experience. After hiking we had a late lunch at a local restaurant and then headed back to Beijing. There is no shopping, although there are a few hawkers on the wall. Make sure you take lots of water and sunscreen with you as it can get quite hot in Summer. The tour guide and driver were excellent and can recommend this trip. The travel time is quite long so bring a tablet and headphones to keep you entertained true More calishandysg 5.0 We had a great 3-day tour. Most of it was a walking tour that required stamina. The cost was a good deal that included 3 lunch meals. The tour guides Yoyo, Irish and Vik were very knowledgable about their history. Their English was good, but at times could not understand their accent.  The Lunch for the 3 days were good but on the 2nd and 3rd day, we were brought to the same restaurant. The service in the Great wall restaurant was good. Food was prepared on the table when we arrived. Unlike in the 2nd restaurant, food was served one at a time, hence time-consuming. The mandatory stops, total of 5 in 3days: Jade factory, Tea factory, Pearl factory, Silk factory, Foot massage were informative but the time spent there could have been added for picture-taking in the tourist places.
