It is one of the largest grotto-groups in China.

Move on Huayan Monastery. It is located on the southwestern side of Datong City, Shanxi Province, China. It gains the name because there is a cave called Huayan Cave at the south side of the temple. Huayan Temple is the largest and most perfectly preserved temple of the Liao (916-1125) and Jin (1115-1234) dynasties in China.

Day 2: Departure from Datong (Breakfast, Lunch)

Pick you up from your hotel. First visit Hanging Monastery. It was built into a cliff (75 meter or 246 feet above the ground) of Mt. Hengshan in Hunyuan County, Datong City, Shanxi province, China. Leaning on the precipitous mountain face and facing a deep valley, the temple was constructed in a unique way, which is the buildings are supported by sturdy wooden pillars inserted in holes cut in the mountain body. Seeing it from the distance you could find it hanging in the mid air miraculously, hence the name "Hanging Monastery".

After that, move on Yingxian Wooden Tower. The real name of the Wooden Pagoda in Yingxian Country is the Sakyamuni Pagoda. Situated in western Yingxian coutry, the tower is 70 kilometers away from Datong. It is shaped in an octagon and is 67.13 meters high and 30 meters in diameter at the bottom. It was built in Liao Dynasty in 1056. The wooden tower was completely made of wood without a single nail.
