Dali Attraction Guide


Located between Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, Dali is famous for its natural beauty and the ethnic culture of the Bai people.  


erhai-lake01 Embracing 250 square kilometers, Erhai Lake lies at the eastern foot of the Cangshan Mountains and is a famous fresh-water lake, 40 kilometers long from north to south ,7 to 8 kilometers wide from east to west, lying on a plateau of 1.980 metres above sea level.
 
dali-town Dali Ancient City is 13 kilometers (8.1 miles) away from Xiaguan in Dali City, Yunnan Province and is one of the 'Three Ancients' (Ancient Cities, Ancient Pagodas and Ancient Steles) of the Dali Scenic Spot.
 
zhoucheng-town Zhoucheng Town is the largest and the most northern village of Dali City. The Town has 7,571 inhabitants of 1,470 families. The entire Town is in a square shape with row upon row of houses. The Yunnan Tibetan highway stretches across the Town.
 
dali-three-pagoda The Dali Three Pagodas, about 1 kilometer (0.6 mile) northwest of the ancient city of Dali, have a history of over 1,800 years.
 
butterfly-spring The Butterfly Spring is twenty kilometers north of Dali on the slope of Yunnong Peak. Springwater gushes out from the roots of a tree and flows into a clear pond.
 
xizhou-minority Located at only 18 kilometers north of Dali, Xizhou faces Erhai on the east and rests on Cangshan in the west. It's a historically famous city that contains incredibly well preserved Bai architecture. Examples are Yan's compound, Hou's compound and Dong's compound.
 
cangshan-mountain01 The CangShan (Jade Green Mountains), two km west of Dali, forms the backdrop for Dali City. Together with Erhai Lake, the imposing mountain range makes Dali a true vacation getaway.
 
bai-musem The Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture Museum is near the Erhai Dock, located in the east of Erhai South Road in Xiaguan Town of Dali City, Yunnan Province.
